We were given ‘OUTSTANDING’ in a recent Review of Northwold’s Overall Effectiveness

The review was carried out over two days by Rob Eyre–Brook and Peter Neale, with reference to the current Ofsted Framework for the Inspection of Schools. Ofsted judgement criteria were used throughout. The review covered all areas evaluated in an Ofsted inspection, with the exception of safeguarding and the effectiveness of governors, although these aspects were also touched upon. A review of safeguarding was recently carried out by the Local Authority with very positive results. Continue Reading here.

Celebration Day

This video comes from our celebration day held last term. The day was an amazing opportunity to share our wonderful school with the community. Northwold Primary has received the top results for any school in Hackney to date. We are also the third best school in London, which is an amazing testament to everyone in our school community. We would like to thank Diane Abbott MP and Councillor Michael Desmond who is Speaker of the House for Hackney Council for coming to officially open the new facilities we have.

Enabling Enterprise

Northwold Primary School has been using Enabling Enterprise to educate our children using new mediums. Each term, every class undertakes a week long activity which aims to give the students a chance to increase their potential in real world scenarios.

The enterprise education programmes help teachers by integrating skills development into different areas of the curriculum for KS2. So, to help history lessons come alive, students create and carry out a campaign on a local issue; in French, they set up a business with an international flavour; in Maths, they design a new sport for the Olympics. All the while, developing skills that are subject-specific – like using as shape work and modelling to design an Olympic arena – and enterprising – like working in teams, turning ideas into plans, giving presentations and communicating effectively.

What Makes Northwold So Special

Seven Outstanding Features

We have lots of visitors at Northwold – famous and mainstream and who travel from all corners of the globe. The most common feedback we get from all our visitors is that Northwold is not like any other school – it’s a very special place. I know what they mean because I was hooked into the Northwold factor when I arrived as part of a temporary arrangement until the school was able to appoint their own head teacher. I found it difficult to leave, despite the mountain that needed to be climbed. So here are 7 things that I think makes Northwold stand out.
